and professor of magic. He has performed for David Copperfield and Michael Jackson.
Brady Oberley wrote the following instructions.

Effect: The performer rolls up a newspaper into a cone. He then dumps some water into the cone. He
crumples up the newspaper to show that the water has completely vanished!

Materials: Two Sheets of Newspapers, and ¼ glass of water.

Method: This trick is almost entirely self-working. Take two newspapers and line them up.
Simply roll them into a cone the best way you know how.

Here is the secret: Crumple up the first 3 inches from the bottom of the paper. This will make a wad of
newspaper that will act as a sponge. Conceal the obnoxious wrinkles with your hand.

Take about 1/4 of a glass of water and pour it into the cone. You need to stall here in order for the water to
completely soak into the bottom. You can place the glass down carefully, or crack a joke.

After a couple seconds, quickly crumple the newspaper up to show that the water has vanished.
You’ll need to get rid of the evidence, so simply just throw away the newspaper.
You can’t read a crumpled newspaper, so who needs it?
